Jane Drinkwalter

After a degree in nutrition from San Diego State University, Jane Drinkwalter began her career in the natural products industry in 1973 as a manager of a natural foods store.  She expanded her sales career as a broker, manufacturer and eventually sales executive.  She helped establish Vitamer Labs as the industry leader of private label supplements for the natural products industry.  Jane has been with Vitamer Labs since 1988 and helped found VitaCeutical Labs in 1996 and is currently Vice President, Sales.  She has served as Treasurer and Supply Chair on the National Board for the Natural Products Association.


Daniel Fabricant

Daniel Fabricant, Ph.D. is Executive Director and CEO of the Natural Products Association. Most recently, Dr. Fabricant served as the Director of the Division of Dietary Supplement Programs at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), where he directed agency policy, public affairs and regulatory action regarding regulation of the dietary supplement industry for more than three years. Prior to the FDA, Dr. Fabricant was vice president, global government and scientific affairs, for NPA, responsible for establishing and leading industry coalitions dealing with a range of legislative, regulatory and scientific matters. Dr. Fabricant carried his interest in natural products into the classroom, earning a Ph.D. in Pharmacognosy from the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he has served as an adjunct professor in the Department of Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmacognosy since 2009. He has also published extensively and is internationally recognized for his regulatory and governmental public health expertise and natural products research.


David Brown

David Brown is the current Chairman of the NPF Board of Directors. Mr. Brown was most recently President of the LifeVantage Network. Prior to LifeVantage, Mr. Brown had been Managing Director and Co-Founder of Nutritional Business Advisors, President and CEO of Metabolife International, and President of Natural Balance, International. Mr. Brown earned his Juris Doctor degree from Cornell University, and began his career as a corporate attorney at the law firm Kindel & Anderson.


James D. Weir

President and CEO of Primus Pharmaceuticals, Weir led various prescription and OTC drug and medical device businesses for Procter & Gamble (P&G) and later The Kendall Company’s former home healthcare subsidiary, Kendall-Futuro. At Kendall-Futuro, Mr. Weir was the Vice President of Marketing & Product Development. He has extensive experience in entrepreneurial management, marketing, sales, and product development.  He graduated from Harvard Business School with an MBA and from Augustana College with a BS in Business and Accounting.


Carilyn Anderson

Carilyn Anderson has played a crucial role in her family’s business, Carlson Laboratories, for many years. She now holds a more important role as the President of the company, since her father, John Carlson (founder of Carlson Laboratories), retired last year. Anderson received her Bachelor of Arts in English from Michigan State University in 1991, with minors in psychology and education. She is an active member of the Natural Products Association and currently serves as Supply Committee Chair.


Jon Benninger

Jon Benninger is Vice President of VIRGO's Health & Nutrition Network, which is responsible for Natural Products Insider, Food Product Design, Integrative Healthcare Insider, Inside Cosmeceuticals and the SupplySide brand franchise. He joined VIRGO in 1995 as founding editor of the company's first magazine in the industry. He also formerly served as president of DSEA, which is became part of the Natural Products Foundation in 2008.



Peter Hafermann

Peter Hafermann is currently employed as president of Alix Technologies (a subsidiary of Pharmachem Labs), a manufacturer of beverage and personal care products. Prior to his current role he served as president of Aloecorp for a 3 year period. Mr. Hafermann also worked at BI Nutraceuticals in Long Beach, California, a manufacturer, marketer and distributor of herbal powders and extracts, where he served in positions of increasing responsibility, including president.



Skye Lininger

Dr. Skye Lininger is co-Founder, CEO, and Chairman of Aisle7 (creators of Healthnotes). He has more than 20 years experience in the computer and software industry and has served as CEO of a consumer-direct catalog business and VP of Sales and Marketing for a dietary supplement company. He practiced for ten years as chiropractor. He holds a Masters in English from California State University, Fresno and an MBA from the University of Oregon. He has served as the Board Chair for both Bastyr University and Western States Chiropractic College, and is a former member of the Executive Committee of Portland Center Stage. In addition to the Foundation, Skye currently serves on the board of Pulse Health.
